Pandit Dr.Harish Tiwari
Imaginative artistes know how to carry a tradition along with them. The extra ordinary mellifluous voice, Harish Tiwari is one of those who totally immerse himself in the occasion of “ Swara”.Born in Deoria District of Uttar Pradesh, he started his musical journey under the guidance of Guru Thakur Choubey. Encouraged by his teaching process,Harish Tiwari had further persuaded his career in BHU and was under the tutelage of Pandit Ajeet Bhattacharya and Pandit Nandan Ji, both disciple of legendary vocalist Pandit Omkar Nath Thakur. He also had the opportunity to take the guidance under Pandit Kundanlal Sharma who taught him intricacies of Shyamchaurasia Gharana of Punjab.
After being under the supervision of his revered Guru-s for 8 years, finally Harish became disciple of Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi of legendry Kirana Gharana and he learned the intricacies of subtle understatement and ease of control of execution of complex “TAAN “pattern along with the art of professional presentation with his own touch.
A sought after artiste,Pandit Harish Tiwari’s rendition of Raga-s are marked by complex phirat-s ,fast taan-s ,infallible rhythm,imaginative content with aesthetical approach.
An ‘A’ Grade Artiste of All India Radio & Television of India,he performed extensively all over the countries under aegis of numerous organisations.
He has been awarded Ph.D from the University of Delhi and presently working as member of the faculty of vocal music as an Assistant Professor in University of Delhi.
