रामप्रसाद बिस्मिल का अंतिम पत्र

Ram Prasad Bismil (11 June 1897 - 19 December 1927) was an Indian revolutionary who participated in Mainpuri Conspiracy of 1918, and the Kakori conspiracy of 1925, both against British Empire. As well as being a freedom fighter, he was also a patriotic poet and wrote in Hindi and Urdu using the pen names Ram, Agyat and Bismil. But, he became popular with the last name "Bismil" only. He was associated with Arya Samaj where he got inspiration from Satyarth Prakash, a book written by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. He also had a confidential connection with Lala Har Dayal through his guru Swami Somdev, a renowned preacher of Arya Samaj.
Bismil was one of the founder members of the revolutionary organisation Hindustan Republican Association. Bhagat Singh praised him as a great poet-writer of Urdu and Hindi, who had also translated the books Catherine from English and Bolshevikon Ki Kartoot from Bengali. Several inspiring patriotic verses are attributed to him. The famous poem "Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna" is also popularly attributed to him, although some progressive writers have remarked that 'Bismil' Azimabadi actually wrote the poem and Ram Prasad Bismil immortalized it.

शहीद होने से एक दिन पूर्व रामप्रसाद बिस्मिल ने अपने एक मित्र को निम्न पत्र लिखा -

"19 तारीख को जो कुछ होगा मैं उसके लिए सहर्ष तैयार हूँ।

आत्मा अमर है जो मनुष्य की तरह वस्त्र धारण किया करती है।"

यदि देश के हित मरना पड़े, मुझको सहस्रो बार भी।

तो भी न मैं इस कष्ट को, निज ध्यान में लाऊं कभी।।

हे ईश! भारतवर्ष में, शतवार मेरा जन्म हो।

कारण सदा ही मृत्यु का, देशीय कारक कर्म हो।।

मरते हैं बिस्मिल, रोशन, लाहिड़ी, अशफाक अत्याचार से।

होंगे पैदा सैंकड़ों, उनके रूधिर की धार से।।

उनके प्रबल उद्योग से, उद्धार होगा देश का।

तब नाश होगा सर्वदा, दुख शोक के लव लेश का।।

सब से मेरा नमस्कार कहिए,

तुम्हारा

रामप्रसाद बिस्मिल की शायरी, जो उन्होने कालकोठरी में लिखी और गाई थी,

उसका एकट-एक शब्द आज भी भारतीय जनमानस पर उतना ही असर रखता है जितना

उन दिनो रखता था। बिस्मिल की निम्न शायरी का हर शब्द अमर है:

सरफरोशी की तमन्ना, अब हमारे दिल में है।

देखना है जोर कितना, बाजुए कातिल में है।।

वक्त आने दे बता देंगे तुझे ऐ आसमां

हम अभी से क्या बताएं, क्या हमारे दिल में है।।

और:

दिन खून के हमारे, यारो न भूल जाना

सूनी पड़ी कबर पे इक गुल खिलाते जाना।
